"The course far exceeded my expectations from the food to your hospitality, to the actual respirometry lessons. I now feel confident to begin using this powerful tool to ask important questions. Thanks for all your help." -- Jonathan Shik, University of Oklahoma

Gas multiplexers (also known as gas switchers) are essential for automated gas sampling from multiple locations, and for multi-sample and multi-animal respirometry.

Our RM-series gas flow multiplexers are available in eight and four channel versions. Each channel consists of a pair or precision, fast-operating electrical valves. When activated, these valves connect the selected channel to a pair of common ports. Thus, you can sample from multiple locations (such as respirometry chambers, microenvironments, etc.) in any sequence. A standard binary signal from a data acquisition system selects the channel. Manual channel selection, or user-programmed channel selection (up to 99 steps), or daisy-chainable serial (RS-232) channel selection can also be selected. Multiple RM-series multiplexers can be merged to create almost any number of desired channels.

In many sampling applications, each sampled location has an accompanying electrical signal that is of interest. An example is activity detectors in a multi-animal respirometry system. The RM-series multiplexers incorporate an electrical multiplexer for selecting electrical signals that accompany a specific gas flow channel, greatly simplifying data acquisition.

Our RM series gas flow multiplexers have been in production, with continuous improvements, since 1991. Their quality, versatility and first-class technical support are unparalleled.
